(Zephaniah 1:1 NASB)  The word of the LORD which came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son of Amariah, son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah,

(Zephaniah 1:1 KJV)  The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.

(Zephaniah 1:1 NIV)  The word of the LORD that came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, during the reign of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah:

(Zephaniah 1:2 NASB)  "I will completely remove all things From the face of the earth," declares the LORD.

(Zephaniah 1:2 KJV)  I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.

(Zephaniah 1:2 NIV)  "I will sweep away everything from the face of the earth," declares the LORD.

(Zephaniah 1:3 NASB)  "I will remove man and beast; I will remove the birds of the sky And the fish of the sea, And the ruins along with the wicked; And I will cut off man from the face of the earth," declares the LORD.

(Zephaniah 1:3 KJV)  I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.

(Zephaniah 1:3 NIV)  "I will sweep away both men and animals; I will sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the sea. The wicked will have only heaps of rubble when I cut off man from the face of the earth," declares the LORD.

(Zephaniah 1:4 NASB)  "So I will stretch out My hand against Judah And against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, And the names of the idolatrous priests along with the priests.

(Zephaniah 1:4 KJV)  I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;

(Zephaniah 1:4 NIV)  "I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all who live in Jerusalem. I will cut off from this place every remnant of Baal, the names of the pagan and the idolatrous priests--

(Zephaniah 1:5 NASB)  "And those who bow down on the housetops to the host of heaven, And those who bow down and swear to the LORD and yet swear by Milcom,

(Zephaniah 1:5 KJV)  And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;

(Zephaniah 1:5 NIV)  those who bow down on the roofs to worship the starry host, those who bow down and swear by the LORD and who also swear by Molech,

(Zephaniah 1:6 NASB)  And those who have turned back from following the LORD, And those who have not sought the LORD or inquired of Him."

(Zephaniah 1:6 KJV)  And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor inquired for him.

(Zephaniah 1:6 NIV)  those who turn back from following the LORD and neither seek the LORD nor inquire of him.

(Zephaniah 1:7 NASB)  Be silent before the Lord GOD! For the day of the LORD is near, For the LORD has prepared a sacrifice, He has consecrated His guests.

(Zephaniah 1:7 KJV)  Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD hath prepared a sacrifice, he hath bid his guests.

(Zephaniah 1:7 NIV)  Be silent before the Sovereign LORD, for the day of the LORD is near. The LORD has prepared a sacrifice; he has consecrated those he has invited.

(Zephaniah 1:8 NASB)  "Then it will come about on the day of the LORD'S sacrifice, That I will punish the princes, the king's sons, And all who clothe themselves with foreign garments.

(Zephaniah 1:8 KJV)  And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD'S sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.

(Zephaniah 1:8 NIV)  On the day of the Lord's sacrifice I will punish the princes and the king's sons and all those clad in foreign clothes.

(Zephaniah 1:9 NASB)  "And I will punish on that day all who leap on the temple threshold, Who fill the house of their lord with violence and deceit.

(Zephaniah 1:9 KJV)  In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.

(Zephaniah 1:9 NIV)  On that day I will punish all who avoid stepping on the threshold, who fill the temple of their gods with violence and deceit.

(Zephaniah 1:10 NASB)  "And on that day," declares the LORD, "There will be the sound of a cry from the Fish Gate, A wail from the Second Quarter, And a loud crash from the hills.

(Zephaniah 1:10 KJV)  And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.

(Zephaniah 1:10 NIV)  "On that day," declares the LORD, "a cry will go up from the Fish Gate, wailing from the New Quarter, and a loud crash from the hills.

(Zephaniah 1:11 NASB)  "Wail, O inhabitants of the Mortar, For all the people of Canaan will be silenced; All who weigh out silver will be cut off.

(Zephaniah 1:11 KJV)  Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.

(Zephaniah 1:11 NIV)  Wail, you who live in the market district ; all your merchants will be wiped out, all who trade with silver will be ruined.

(Hosea 12:8 NASB)  And Ephraim said, "Surely I have become rich, I have found wealth for myself; In all my labors they will find in me No iniquity, which would be sin."

(Isaiah 41:22 KJV)  Let them bring them forth, and show us what shall happen: let them show the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.

(Isaiah 41:22 NIV)  "Bring in your idols to tell us what is going to happen. Tell us what the former things were, so that we may consider them and know their final outcome. Or declare to us the things to come,

(Isaiah 41:23 NASB)  Declare the things that are going to come afterward, That we may know that you are gods; Indeed, do good or evil, that we may anxiously look about us and fear together.

(Isaiah 41:23 KJV)  Show the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that ye are gods: yea, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed, and behold it together.

(Isaiah 41:23 NIV)  tell us what the future holds, so we may know that you are gods. Do something, whether good or bad, so that we will be dismayed and filled with fear.

(Isaiah 41:24 NASB)  Behold, you are of no account, And your work amounts to nothing; He who chooses you is an abomination.

(Isaiah 41:24 KJV)  Behold, ye are of nothing, and your work of nought: an abomination is he that chooseth you.

(Isaiah 41:24 NIV)  But you are less than nothing and your works are utterly worthless; he who chooses you is detestable.

(Jeremiah 10:2 NIV)  This is what the LORD says: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them.

(Jeremiah 10:3 NASB)  For the customs of the peoples are delusion; Because it is wood cut from the forest, The work of the hands of a craftsman with a cutting tool.

(Jeremiah 10:3 KJV)  For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.

(Jeremiah 10:3 NIV)  For the customs of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.

(Jeremiah 10:5 NASB)  "Like a scarecrow in a cucumber field are they, And they cannot speak; They must be carried, Because they cannot walk! Do not fear them, For they can do no harm, Nor can they do any good."

(Jeremiah 10:5 KJV)  They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

(Jeremiah 10:6 NASB)  There is none like Thee, O LORD; Thou art great, and great is Thy name in might.
